i'm literally so tired i could disintegrate, but i had to hold space for this bc it's actually major. the venture capital firm andreessen horowitz, which is like, a whole entire vibe, just announced it's leading a massive funding round for a startup called sentient os. their product is an ai management system named 'kōan' that replaces your boss to protect your emotional bandwidth. i know. it’s a lot to process.

so basically, instead of getting a terrifying email asking you to 'hop on a quick call,' kōan interfaces with your consciousness through 'non-invasive, ambient pings.' it doesn't assign tasks, because tasks are a toxic hierarchical construct. instead, it offers gentle, cryptic prompts for your workday, like 'how does the deadline feel in your body?' or 'what if the deliverable was friendship all along?'

marc andreessen apparently called it 'the inevitable future of decentralized human enterprise,' which, okay. the goal is to create a psychologically safe harbor where employees are never exposed to the aggression of 'constructive criticism' or the passive-aggression of a period at the end of a slack message.

performance reviews are now 'energetic check-ins.' if the vibes are off with your project, kōan might suggest you 'honor your truth by taking a nap' or 'manifest synergy by aligning your chakras with the quarterly goals.' it's so much emotional labor to have to interpret these deep corporate truths all day. to even get through writing this, i've basically been living in my emotional support weighted hoodie (linked in my amazon storefront, obvi).

the founder, a guy named jaxon reilley, said in a press release that 'work is not a place for work; it's a vessel for self-actualization.' and like, yes, but also, my capacity is so limited rn. i had to get a new set of aura-cleansing crystals just to deal with the second-hand exhaustion of this announcement.
