tw: perception // apple just released an invisibility patch and i am finally healing

tim cook finally understood that being seen by other people is a literal assault on my peace.

tw: perception // apple just released an invisibility patch and i am finally healing

i'm literally writing this from under three weighted blankets because the vibe of today is just... too much. like, the sheer audacity of the sun existing at this brightness level is actually an act of aggression against my optic nerves. i’ve been in a state of perpetual fight-or-flight since i woke up and realized i might have to exist in a physical space where people can perceive me.

but honestly? i am shaking (in a good way) because tim cook finally decided to stop being part of the problem and actually hold space for us. apple just dropped a firmware update for the vision pro and apple watch called "perceived-less," and it is literally the only thing keeping me tethered to this plane of existence right now.

basically, the tech uses some kind of hyper-advanced haptic spatial awareness to detect when another human being is looking in your general direction. before they can even make eye contact—which we all know is a violent act of intimacy we didn't consent to—the watch vibrates in this very gentle, grounding frequency that tells you: "hey bestie, someone is trying to perceive you." then, the vision pro immediately projects a low-resolution, soft-blur holographic shroud around your entire body.

to the other person, you just look like a smudge of beige noise. you become a vibe rather than a person. it's essentially an invisibility cloak for people whose nervous systems are completely fried by the toxic economy of social expectation. i tried it at the grocery store today and i actually felt my cortisol levels drop for the first time since 2021. just being a blurry smudge in the produce aisle while i contemplated if buying organic kale is a form of capitalism-induced anxiety was so healing.

tim cook said in the press release that this was designed to "optimize productivity in high-stimulus environments," but we all know that's just corporate speak for "we know you're all dissociating and we want to monetize it." and honestly? i'm okay with that. if my mental health requires me to be a blurred pixel in real-time just to survive a trip to the pharmacy, then that is a valid boundary.

i’ve spent so much time trying to regulate my nervous system through deep breathing, but let’s be real: breathing is hard work and i literally cannot with the concept of 'effort' right now. this update is the only way to truly go no-contact with reality.

if you're also feeling completely overstimulated by the sheer violence of existing in a body, you should probably check out my amazon storefront for the exact sensory-deprivation earplugs i use to ignore the sound of my own thoughts (link in bio/storefront).

i'm going back into my cocoon now. please don't email me because as we've established, that is literal violence and i am currently in a healing journey.

Bruh, this update sounds lit! I've been feeling so overstimulated by all the hypebeast posers in my school. Can't wait to ghost them with this 'vibe' thing.

This whole thing feels like a social experiment, right? Apple knows we're all on the brink of meltdown and they're weaponizing this 'invisibility cloak' for some nefarious purpose. Wake up, sheeple!

This sounds like a neat workaround for awkward social situations, but honestly, I'd rather just learn how to be more comfortable with people. Still, might be useful for crowded events...

Imagine the competitive edge! Hiding in plain sight while you rack up kills in Warzone. This is gonna be insane!

Finally, a way to truly escape the chaos of human interaction. My life just became 10x more bearable.

This is going to be HUGE for my Insta game! Imagine the likes I'll get with these blurry 'vibe' pics. #invisibilitychic
