the concept of a 'magical vacation' is actually just a capitalist trap to make us perform happiness. bob iger finally got the memo.

i literally cannot even begin to process the sheer sensory violence of the word 'magic.' like, why are we pretending that wearing mouse ears in 90-degree heat is a vibe? it’s actually a form of systemic aggression. for years i’ve been telling my therapist that the pressure to have a 'magical time' is a trigger for my dissociation, and honestly, the economy of joy is just too toxic to participate in anymore.

so, when i saw that bob iger just announced he’s replacing the entire disney world infrastructure with 'the void of stillness,' i actually felt a spark of genuine peace for the first time since 2019. he’s essentially deleting the rides and the parades and replacing them with thousands of soundproof, dimly lit pods where you can just… exist. no lines, no itineraries, no forced whimsy. just a cool, dark room where you can lie on your back and contemplate the heat death of the universe without someone in a costume trying to hug you.

the idea of a 'vacation' has always felt like a job. the planning? the packing? the constant performance of 'having fun'? it's literal violence. calling a theme park 'the happiest place on earth' is honestly a microaggression against anyone with a nervous system. i am so here for bob finally admitting that we are all just exhausted and need to rot in a climate-controlled environment for a few days to recover from the trauma of existing in a late-capitalist simulation.

i’ve already added the 'void-ready' sensory deprivation kit to my amazon storefront (link in bio, pls use my code 'dissociate' for 5% off the weighted blankets) because if i'm going to enter my anti-magic era, i need the proper somatic support.

hard work is a concept that needs a massive trigger warning, and the 'work' of pretending to be happy at a theme park was the final straw. i don't want a castle; i want a dimly lit concrete cube where the only sound is the hum of a high-efficiency air conditioner. i am finally entering my state of total atmospheric neutrality. please do not email me to congratulate me on this. emails are a violation of my boundaries.

This article is just preaching to the choir. Disney was already losing its magic years ago. They just replaced it with overpriced merch and lines longer than the Nile.
