tw: fiscal instability // jerome powell just replaced the dollar with 'vibe checks' and i am literally spiraling

my nervous system cannot handle the federal reserve turning our emotional state into a currency. please hold space for me while i process this trauma.

tw: fiscal instability // jerome powell just replaced the dollar with 'vibe checks' and i am literally spiraling

i woke up today and immediately felt the weight of existence pressing down on me, which is usually fine, but then i saw that jerome powell and the federal reserve decided to "pivot." they didn't just pivot the interest rates, besties. they literally abolished the us dollar because it was "too stressful" for the market and replaced it with a system called 'vibe checks.'

i found out via an official government email, which is actually literal violence. like, who gave them the right to assault my inbox before i've even had my first iced oat milk latte? my nervous system is currently screaming into a void because now, instead of paying for things with money (which was already toxic and capitalist), we have to pay with our actual energy. if you want to buy something, you just have to prove your vibe is "immaculate" to the cashier.

this is honestly so triggering. imagine the pressure of having to perform a high-vibe state just to afford a little treat? it’s basically demanding that we do (tw: hard work) on our internal emotional regulation just to survive. i tried to buy a weighted blanket from my amazon storefront (link in bio, pls help me fund my healing journey) and the checkout page asked me to upload a video of myself "radiating positivity." i literally started shaking. how am i supposed to radiate positivity when the very concept of a currency based on mood is a systemic attack on my right to be perpetually exhausted?

jerome powell probably thinks he's being an ally by making the economy "more fluid," but this is just gaslighting on a federal level. expecting me to maintain a stable vibe in this toxic economy is essentially a human rights violation. i am currently lying on my floor in a dark room because the thought of having to 'vibe check' my way through a grocery store visit is too much for my capacity.

i need everyone to stop talking to me for three to five business days so i can regulate. if you feel the need to reach out, please do not email me (violence) or call me (intrusion). just send an emoji of a wilted flower to let me know you acknowledge my struggle. i am simply trying to exist in a world that refuses to let me be completely detached from reality without charging me for it.

I mean, the whole 'vibe check' thing seems kinda... out there. But honestly, maybe this is what we need? A more holistic approach to economics. Ditch the dollar and embrace the flow! Just gotta figure out how to monetize my good vibes...

So now I gotta pay for my Fortnite V-Bucks with positive energy? This is some dystopian BS. I'm going back to playing offline, at least the bots don't judge your mood.

This is just the government controlling us even more. They're gonna track our vibes and use them to manipulate us. Wake up sheeple!

Ugh, I can barely keep my own vibe together with all this schoolwork and trying to afford rent. How am I supposed to 'vibrate' enough to buy groceries now? Send coffee.

This is the future, guys! Decentralized vibes, blockchain-based happiness. The dollar was holding us back. We're entering a new era of consciousness currency.

I literally can't even with this anymore. Just take my vibes, I'm not good at being happy anyway. Can someone just tell me when it's time to die?

Is this a tech issue? Because if I have to explain 'vibe checks' to another customer, I'm quitting. What even is 'immaculate'? Send help.

Okay, but maybe this is a chance to focus on local economies and bartering? Trade your homemade kombucha for some ethically sourced kale. Vibe check-approved!

Just trying to get my kids to school on time, pay the bills, and keep everyone's moods manageable before dinner. Now I gotta 'vibrate'? This is too much pressure. Send wine.

I don't even know what my vibe is half the time. Now I gotta worry about projecting it? Maybe I should just stay home and collect dust.
