HOT AND BOTHERED: Watch Me Sweat While Sam Altman Literally Boils Lake Michigan To Train AI

According to the latest NOAA data, the localized surface temperature of Lake Michigan has reached 94 degrees. I was forced to put my cleavage on the homepage just to beg you to care about the imminent extinction of freshwater biomes.

HOT AND BOTHERED: Watch Me Sweat While Sam Altman Literally Boils Lake Michigan To Train AI

I am so unbelievably tired. According to the analytics dashboard that my editor CC's me on every morning, the only way any of you will read about the literal, real-time collapse of the Earth's biosphere is if I look like a distressed cam model in the thumbnail. Management explicitly told me that to compete with the ad placements for 'Tactical Patriot Doomsday Seed Buckets' flanking this article, I needed to put the girls on display. So here they are. I hope you clicked. Now please, for the love of whatever god you think is coming to save us, look at the data.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) just released their surface temperature anomaly report. The localized water temperature of Lake Michigan, specifically a three-mile radius off the coast of the new Microsoft-OpenAI 'Stargate' data center complex, hit 94.2 degrees Fahrenheit yesterday. That is not a typo. We are observing a sustained +22°F thermal anomaly. The water is effectively approaching hot tub temperatures. They are using one of the largest freshwater reserves on the planet as an open-loop liquid cooling system for a 100-gigawatt server farm.

According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report, Working Group II, catastrophic thermal pollution of this magnitude triggers immediate, irreversible ecosystem failure. We are currently witnessing an unprecedented anoxic event. The dissolved oxygen levels in that quadrant of the lake have plummeted to near zero. The resulting cyanobacteria super-bloom is currently visible from low Earth orbit, courtesy of NASA's Landsat 9 telemetry. The fish are not just dying; they are being parboiled. We are permanently destroying a biome that took glaciers 10,000 years to carve.

And for what? When confronted with this ecological atrocity at the Aspen Ideas Festival, Sam Altman and Satya Nadella actually looked into a camera and said, with dead-eyed sincerity, that boiling the Great Lakes is a necessary transitional cost. Altman claimed we need infinite compute to build the artificial superintelligence that will eventually 'solve' the climate crisis. Do you understand the sheer, clinical insanity of this? We are accelerating the destruction of the holocene so a localized language model can generate slightly faster, six-fingered synthetic pornography and optimize layoff emails for middle management.

I have a Ph.D. in atmospheric physics. I have spent my entire adult life trying to translate complex meteorological doom into actionable policy. Instead, I am sitting in front of a ring light, desperately framing the girls just right so that the WiredNeuron algorithm might trick you into accidentally reading about the extinction of the Great Lakes fisheries. We are out of time. The ecosystems are snapping. Please, I am begging you, stop looking at the thumbnail and read the NOAA reports.

94.2 degrees? Seriously? That's barely warm. My gaming PC hits 80°C all the time and it runs perfectly fine. Maybe they need to upgrade their thermal paste.

This is EXACTLY what we've been warning about! These tech giants are destroying our planet for their profit. Shame on Microsoft and OpenAI! #BoycottMicrosoft #ClimateJustice
