tw: systemic violence // john oliver is literally gaslighting my serenity-core and i am finally entering my non-alert era

i was literally just trying to have a mindful morning and then john oliver decided to violate my boundaries with some urgent political energy.

tw: systemic violence // john oliver is literally gaslighting my serenity-core and i am finally entering my non-alert era

so like, i woke up today and i was really leaning into my soft-girl aesthetic. i had my iced matcha, my weighted blanket was at the perfect temperature, and i was honestly just manifesting a day of zero friction. i was in my absolute peak serenity-core. but then, i scrolled past a clip of john oliver talking about the midterms and the republican party’s ties to nazis and i literally felt my entire aura shatter in real time.

first of all, the energy of the clip was just... so loud? like, the urgency in his voice was a total microaggression against my nervous system. i don't even know how to process the actual content because the sheer volume of the "warning" gave me immediate sensory overload. it’s actually wild to me how public figures think it’s okay to just project that much anxiety into my feed without a trigger warning for my peace. it felt like a total violation of my emotional boundaries.

honestly, john oliver is literally gaslighting my stability-core. by calling things "urgent," he’s creating a toxic attachment between me and the concept of the state, which is so not where i’m at right now. i’m trying to decouple from the physical plane, and here he is, trying to anchor me back into a reality where political extremism exists. it’s giving very much "i don't respect your need for a curated digital space," and frankly, it's an ick. like, i can't be expected to maintain my curated aesthetic when the internet is just screaming about fascism. it's literally sabotaging my healing journey.

i’ve decided that i am officially entering my non-alert era. i cannot be "warned" anymore. being warned is a trigger. i am choosing to prioritize my energy hygiene over everything else because the world is just too loud and the vibes are genuinely rancid.

since my cortisol levels are currently peaking and i’m basically in a state of spiritual collapse, i’ve finally added something to my amazon storefront that you guys literally need for your own survival. it’s called the "void-space sensory deprivation veil." it’s a $240 weighted, amethyst-infused silk wrap that covers your eyes, ears, and nose so you can literally block out the entire concept of the news. it’s designed to simulate the feeling of being a pebble at the bottom of a very quiet stream. use my code "vibecheck" for 5% off because we really need to stop letting the outside world gaslight our peace.

This is the kind of 'deep thinking' that makes me question the value of a college education. Just accept reality, snowflake. Not every video needs a trigger warning. Get some steel in your spine and learn to handle it.

Ugh, I totally feel you! It's like some people just don't understand the importance of creating a peaceful, positive space. 🙏 We need to protect our energy at all costs. #vibesmatter #selfcare #non-alertera

This is the problem with social media. Everyone's so fragile, they can't handle anything real. Newsflash: the world is a messy place. Deal with it.

John Oliver is literally a dark energy vortex, you know? He's trying to drag you down into his chaos. Stay strong and keep your chakras aligned! ✨

I mean, come on. Ignoring the problems doesn't make them go away. We need to be aware of what's happening in the world, even if it's uncomfortable.

I get it, political stuff can be draining. I'm all about that

So basically, you want to live in a bubble where bad things don't exist? That sounds like a lovely way to spend your life.

Is there a setting for 'political awareness' that I can turn off? Asking for a friend.

It's interesting how technology can both connect us and isolate us. Sometimes I feel like the internet just amplifies our anxieties.

I'm just trying to keep my kids alive and out of trouble. Politics is the last thing on my mind.
