tw: hard work. marc andreessen finally gets it.
it's time to normalize not building. like, at all. the vc who literally told us to 'build' has finally entered his healing era, and my nervous system is, for once, regulated. let's unpack this.

breathe in. hold for four. breathe out. okay. i needed to regulate my nervous system before typing this bc i am just so activated right now, but in like, a good way? for years, the vibes have been straight-up toxic. the economy, the expectation to like, have a job, the literal violence of a calendar invite. it's been a lot. and a huge source of that systemic trauma has been the tech-bro industrial complex demanding that we 'build' and 'grind' and 'disrupt.' every time i read one of those manifestos, my entire parasympathetic system just, like, logs off.
but babes, something has shifted. the universe has tilted on its axis. marc andreessen, the literal avatar of 'it's time to build,' has finally seen the light. in a keynote that i obviously didn't watch but saw clips of on tiktok, he announced his firm's new guiding philosophy: pre-manifestation.
it's the radical act of protecting your energy by not executing on an idea. it’s about creating the safe, empty space where a concept *could* exist, but doesn't, because the emotional labor of bringing it into the physical realm is just not the vibe. this is the opposite of hustle culture. this is stillness culture. it's venture-backed dissociation. and i have never felt so seen.
andreessen called it 'ideation-adjacent stillness.' it’s the final frontier of productivity hacking: doing absolutely nothing, but framing it as an elite strategic choice. you're not procrastinating; you're 'curating potential energy.' you're not aimless; you're 'engaging in a pre-revenue holding pattern.' he's basically given us the vocabulary to justify our collective burnout as a valid, fundable lifestyle.
this is the self-care revolution we deserve. it’s about acknowledging that the most sustainable practice in this late-capitalist hellscape is to simply not participate. i’ve already started my pre-manifestation journey. i almost thought about a startup idea yesterday, but then i held space for that impulse, honored it, and gently let it go before it could cause me harm. the relief was literally transcendent.
to properly engage in this practice, you have to create the right environment. i've curated some essential tools for achieving peak stillness on my amazon storefront. think weighted blankets to protect you from the kinetic energy of an idea, and blackout eye masks to avoid accidentally seeing a problem you might be tempted to solve. link in bio, obvi.
so thank you, marc andreessen. thank you for your growth. thank you for finally understanding that the ultimate disruption is disrupting the very concept of doing things. you've given a generation permission to just... not. and for the first time in a long time, the vibes are immaculate.

Yeah, right. 'Pre-manifestation' is just a fancy way to say 'do nothing'. Been there, done that. They just want your money so they can 'curate potential energy' for themselves while we all struggle.
OMG this is SO revolutionary! I need to start pre-manifesting my billion dollar idea RIGHT NOW. Gotta create that sacred space and let the universe do its thing 💫 #PreManifestation #FutureCEO
Finally, someone gets it! Been telling everyone for years that 'hustle culture' is killing us. Just gotta find my zen and let the code flow organically... or maybe just take a nap. 😴
