tw: cinematic violence // peter berg is literally gaslighting my softness-core and i am finally entering my non-combative era

like, why are football players pretending to be in a war? my nervous system is literally screaming and the vibes are just... rancid.

tw: cinematic violence // peter berg is literally gaslighting my softness-core and i am finally entering my non-combative era

i literally cannot even right now. i tried to be a supportive member of society and glance at the reviews for the mosquito bowl and i think i actually felt my soul leave my body. like, first of all, the sheer amount of macho energy radiating from peter berg is a literal microaggression against my peace. why is this movie so... loud? the idea of football heroes playing soldiers in wwii is just giving me the biggest ick i've had since i discovered that some people still use wired headphones in public.

it’s the way this film is basically just a two-hour long boundary violation. the sensory overload of all those explosions and the "hyper-masculine" grit is honestly just toxic attachment to an era of violence that i have already processed in therapy. it feels like the movie is gaslighting me into believing that "bravery" is just shouting and running through mud, which is totally invalidating my current era of staying in bed for three days because the lighting in my room is finally hitting the right angle for my aesthetic.

like, can we talk about the emotional labor i have to perform just to ignore the fact that this exists? the movie is literally projecting its insecurities about masculinity onto my feed and it’s causing a complete collapse of my serenity-core. i feel like my aura is being actively dimmed by the sheer emptiness of this macho epic. it’s not even a movie at this point, it’s just a loud, dusty manifestation of a mid-life crisis that is violating my mental space.

obviously, because i am perpetually exhausted and my nervous system is basically a frayed piece of ribbon, i had to find a way to cope with this cinematic trauma. i’ve officially added the "aura-shielding sensory-deprivation combat-silk sleep mask" to my amazon storefront. it’s a weighted, silk-lined mask infused with ethically sourced amethyst crystals and a built-in white noise generator that plays the sound of a distant, very soft rain in a lo-fi cafe. it’s $285 but honestly, if you’re trying to protect your peace from the aggressive energy of professional athletes playing war, it’s a necessary investment for your mental hygiene. link in bio, stay soft.

Dude, get a grip. This movie sounds awesome! Real men watch movies about war and explosions, not some boring, softcore crap. I'm gonna go watch it again, third time this week. 😎💥
