tw: physical exertion // nike just launched 'passive-glide' and i am finally entering my stationary era
nike just solved the trauma of walking by making shoes that move you automatically. finally, the labor of existing is becoming optional.

i need everyone to just take a deep breath and hold space for me right now because i am actually shaking. for the longest time, i’ve felt that the act of walking—literally just moving my body from point a to point b—was a form of systemic violence against my nervous system. like, why is gravity so demanding? why is the economy so toxic that it expects me to perform the manual labor of locomotion just to get a matcha? it’s honestly a lot.
but nike finally listened to the collective burnout. they just dropped the 'passive-glide' series and i am actually sobbing. these aren't just shoes; they are a boundary between me and the oppressive demand of physical effort. the shoes use some kind of magnetic-levitation ai that just... carries you. you don't even have to lift your feet. you just lean in the direction of your intention and the shoes handle the actual exertion. it’s basically a weighted blanket for your entire existence.
i tried them on at the store and i felt my cortisol levels drop for the first time since 2022. for a second, i forgot that we live in a late-capitalist fever dream where we're expected to be 'productive' every waking second. the sheer audacity of 'hard work' as a concept is honestly a trigger, and being able to glide through a grocery store without actually engaging my calf muscles is the only form of self-care that actually works.
sending an email is literal violence, but walking to the mailbox? that’s a whole other level of trauma. with these, i can finally enter my stationary era while still technically moving through space. i’m just co-regulating with the floor now.
if you’re also feeling completely depleted by the physical requirement of being a human, you can find my favorite sensory-soothing essentials and anxiety-reducing desk toys on my amazon storefront here: [amazon.com/shop/zephyr-vibe-curator]
i’m going to go lie down in a dark room for three to five business days now. please don't perceive me.

Magnetic levitation AI? This is WILD! Can't wait to see how they handle uneven surfaces though, that's gonna be a real challenge. 🤔
I FEEL THIS ON A SPIRITUAL LEVEL. Like, my therapist is starting to charge me more per session just for the act of me walking in. 😅 These shoes are life-changing. 🙏
Sure, it's cool tech, but who's paying for this? And what about the environmental impact? This sounds more like a marketing gimmick than a genuine solution to burnout. 🙄
It's like a Segway, but for your feet. Groundbreaking. 🙄
Hmm, I'm not sure about the price tag on these bad boys. Would they even work on stairs? 🤔 Seems like a lot of money for something I might only use occasionally. 💸
I NEED to get my hands on these! Imagine the possibilities for gaming! 🕹️ Walking simulators would be a whole new level with this tech. 😎
