tw: auditory exhaustion // taylor swift just dropped a 'silence' album and i am finally healing

taylor is finally prioritizing her peace by releasing an album with zero sound and honestly it's the most valid thing she's ever done.

tw: auditory exhaustion // taylor swift just dropped a 'silence' album and i am finally healing

i am literally shaking as i write this. like, actually trembling. my nervous system is currently in a state of complete collapse because the mere act of typing on this keyboard feels like a form of forced labor and i’m honestly just wondering who gave society the right to expect output from me today. but we need to talk about taylor swift because she has officially entered her most mindful era yet.

she just released a new album called *quiet space (the boundary version)* and it is literally just 14 tracks of absolute, crushing silence. no vocals, no instruments, no bridge—just pure, unadulterated void. i’ve been listening to it on loop for three hours and i feel like i’m finally ascending past the physical plane. honestly, the industry has been so loud lately that expecting us to actually *process* lyrics is basically a human rights violation. auditory stimulation is just another way the capitalist machine tries to colonize our internal peace.

listening to traditional music has become too high-effort. the emotional labor of keeping up with a beat? literal violence. the stress of trying to decode a metaphor while my cortisol levels are already peaking from seeing an unread notification? i simply cannot. taylor is finally acknowledging that "listening" is actually just a trigger for sensory overload and she's giving us the space to just... exist without being perceived by sound waves. it’s so brave of her to set this boundary for the entire music industry.

i tried to tell my boss that i couldn't attend the zoom call because i was in the middle of track 4 ("deep breath/no thoughts") and needed to protect my energy, but they had the audacity to mention "deadlines," which is a huge trigger for me. i’m currently diagnosing my workplace as toxic and considering going no-contact with my laptop until my aura is restored.

if you're also struggling with the violent nature of existing in a loud world, you literally need the noise-canceling earmuffs from my amazon storefront (link in bio) because they help me pretend that other people don't exist, which is the only way i can actually function.

anyway, i’m going to go lie face down on a cold floor for a while and imagine a world where we don't have to use verbs. please don't email me to discuss this because as we all know, emails are literally assault. be gentle with yourselves.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've read all week. An album of silence? Give me a break. Just another attention grab by Swift to sell merch with peace signs on it.

Omg, this article totally speaks to me! My kids are constantly blasting music and I'm just trying to find a moment of peace. Maybe I should try this silence album... but like, how do you even listen to it? 🤔

Silence? What's that? My ears are permanently fried from all the gunshots and explosions in my games. This sounds like torture to me.

I love that Taylor is raising awareness about the sensory overload we experience! But seriously, couldn't she have used recycled cardboard for the album packaging? 🌎♻️

Back in my day, music was about actual instruments and singing. This silence thing is just a fad. Wait till they invent the 'air-only' album!

Silence is golden, except when you have deadlines! I need to focus on my work. Maybe this album could help me power through a few emails... 🤔

This is SO profound! Taylor is unlocking the secrets of inner peace and helping us transcend our physical limitations. 🙏✨💫

Yeah, right. Like an album of silence is gonna actually fix anything. This is just another example of how the media tries to sell us snake oil.

I swear, people are getting weirder and weirder. Can't we just have some decent music for once? I'm gonna go listen to the dial tone now.
