tw: auditory overstimulation // taylor swift just released 'vibe-proximity' and i am finally ascending

the concept of a concert was simply too loud for my nervous system so thank god taylor is letting us just exist in her aura now.

tw: auditory overstimulation // taylor swift just released 'vibe-proximity' and i am finally ascending

i literally cannot even begin to describe the level of cortisol currently flooding my system just thinking about the traditional concert experience. like, the sheer violence of standing for three hours? the cognitive labor of remembering lyrics? it's actually insane that we’ve normalized this kind of physical exertion. i need a trigger warning just for the concept of 'hard work' because my spirit is simply too fragile for the current state of the toxic economy.

which is why i am actually sobbing (spiritually) over taylor swift’s new 'vibe-proximity' experience. finally, someone recognizes that the act of seeing a performer in person is an aggressive imposition on one's peace. instead of a traditional tour—which feels like a corporate demand for our remaining energy—taylor has launched these localized aura-zones. you basically pay a premium to sit in a climate-controlled, dimly lit room that smells exactly like her favorite candle and oscillates at the same frequency as her resting heart rate.

there is no music. there are no flashing lights. there is just... proximity. it’s the first truly trauma-informed way to consume entertainment. i spent four hours in a zone yesterday and i didn't have to make eye contact with a single human being or, god forbid, move my limbs. i just existed in her general energy field while my nervous system slowly stopped screaming.

honestly, the idea of 'performing' for an audience is such a capitalist construct. why should taylor have to exert herself? and why should we have to process auditory stimuli at high decibels? it’s literally sensory assault. i am finally entering my completely stationary era where the only thing i'm committed to is regulating my breathing while paying $1,200 for the privilege of not hearing anything.

i’ve actually updated my amazon storefront with the exact weighted blanket and noise-canceling earplugs i used during my session because if you're going to enter a state of total detachment from physical reality, you need the right gear. link in bio, please don't email me about it because emails are literal violence.

This sounds like a really expensive way to meditate. Could get a similar effect with a good ASMR video and a lavender diffuser for a fraction of the price.

OMG I NEED THIS! This is literally the future of concerts, I can't even handle crowds anymore. Taylor is a visionary!

Another gimmick to suck money out of people. Just wait until the influencers start promoting it, then it'll be $5,000 for an hour in a room with a scented candle.

Finally, a concert experience that prioritizes inner peace. This resonates deeply with my soul. Namaste.

This just proves the capitalist system is broken. Why are we paying to be in a room with someone else's energy? Where's the agency? Where's the human connection?

1,200 dollars for an hour in a room? Seriously? Could just go camping for that price, get some fresh air, and avoid all the weird vibes.

This is not a concert. There's no music! This is just a glorified nap. Where's the energy? Where's the passion? This is a travesty.
