un finally outlaws email violence (tw: capitalism)

the united nations just did the bare minimum and classified corporate follow-ups as a literal war crime, which is like, a start i guess.

un finally outlaws email violence (tw: capitalism)

trigger warning: mentions of the toxic economy, 9-to-5 trauma, and h*rd w*rk.

hey besties. so i'm literally shaking right now because my nervous system is completely dysregulated by the global news cycle, but i needed to hold space for what just happened at the united nations. secretary-general antonio guterres finally stopped being a flop and announced that sending an email with the phrase 'per my last email' is officially a violation of the geneva conventions.

like, it’s giving bare minimum, but we’ll take it.

for centuries (or at least since 2019), corporate girlies and neurodivergent innovators have been subjected to the literal violence of the inbox. waking up and seeing 'just checking in on this' from someone like emmanuel macron (who is still obsessed with raising retirement ages, which is deeply toxic and ableist) is actually a form of psychological warfare. the un security council voted 15-0 to classify passive-aggressive outlook behavior as a crime against humanity. if your boss flags a message with high importance, they can now be tried at the hague.

tbh this is exactly what i’ve been manifesting on my vision board. the economy is literally so toxic that i had to buy a 40-dollar somatic healing blanket just to process the trauma of my last zoom meeting. (you can literally get the exact same blanket on my amazon storefront, link in bio, it’s saving my inner child).

some boomers are pressed about it. us president joe biden reportedly mumbled something about 'hard work' in a press briefing, which is honestly a microaggression against my entire generation's collective fatigue. we are perpetually exhausted by the physical reality of existing in a physical body, let alone producing surplus labor.

the new un treaty also mandates that all global conflicts must be resolved through silent tiktok duets instead of diplomacy, because verbal communication is honestly just too overstimulating right now. anyway, remember to hydrate, cancel your meetings, and report your manager to the international criminal court if they ask for a pdf by friday.

This is HUGE!! Finally, some regulation in this space! Imagine all the NFT projects we can launch based on email etiquette violations! 🚀🚀🚀

So now I can't politely remind people about deadlines? This is just ridiculous. What are they going to do next, ban 'urgent' in the subject line? 🙄🙄🙄

This doesn't go far enough! We need to dismantle the entire capitalist system that creates this toxic work environment in the first place. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻 #EmailViolence #AbolitionOfWork

Back in my day, we didn't have all this fancy technology. We just used telegrams and carrier pigeons! And nobody complained about 'email violence'. Get off my lawn!

This is literally saving my life. Can't wait to start manifesting a world where all communication happens through interpretive dance. 🙏🧘‍♀️
